10Please describe the applicant's principal strengths.
Wesley is one of the most capable undergraduate researchers I have supervised at Queen's. His honours thesis on attentional bias in adolescent anxiety required him to design a dot-probe task, recruit 84 participants, and fit mixed-effects models largely on his own. He learned R in a single term to do it. What sets him apart is judgement: when early data showed a ceiling effect, he identified the problem, proposed a revised stimulus set, and secured ethics approval for the amendment within two weeks. In PS 410 he asked the questions that moved discussion forward, and his final paper was the strongest in a class of sixty. He also ran an informal statistics help session for other thesis students. He takes feedback without defensiveness and acts on it quickly. I recommend him without reservation.
